The solutions to immediately’s Strands, sport #189, are…
- LILAC
- MAUVE
- MAGENTA
- VIOLET
- PLUM
- LAVENDER
- ORCHID
- SPANGRAM: PURPLES
- My score: Simple
- My rating: Good
Here is a pleasant, easy Strands puzzle for the weekend, that merely entails discovering tones of purple. The theme clue of ‘A royal shade’ fairly gave the sport away, as a result of everybody is aware of that purple is the colour of royalty (although I admit that I do not know why). I then noticed the spangram, PURPLES, as my first phrase, which was nice because it divided the board neatly in half and made it simpler to seek out the opposite solutions.
A few of these have been, admittedly, slightly easier to uncover than others; I considered, and located, the likes of LILAC, MAGENTA, MAUVE and VIOLET in a short time, however needed to work slightly tougher for LAVENDER and (significantly) ORCHID, the latter of which did not happen to me as a shade of purple; orchids are available a number of colours, in spite of everything. However by the point I acquired to that there have been solely so many phrases that might be fashioned, so total this was an easy Strands to play.
