For her evaluation of the brand new M4 iPad Professional, The Wall Avenue Journal‘s Joanna Stern spoke with Tom Boger, Apple’s vice chairman of iPad and Mac advertising and marketing. Stern centered on evaluating the iPad Professional to a MacBook, and requested some focused questions on the way in which Apple views the 2 units.
Based on Boger, Apple sees the iPad Professional and Mac as units that are supposed to be used alongside each other. “We do not see them as competing units,” he stated. “We see them as complementary units.” Whereas the iPad is a “touch-first gadget,” the Mac is designed for “oblique manipulation,” with a mouse or keyboard, which is a degree that Apple has reiterated a number of instances through the years.
